The genre bending grace of Ours to Destroy unravels a blanket of menacing
texture complimented with bravado of blues. Crafting a mature and rugged mix of
chilling storytelling with art, Ours to Destroy relies on gutsy depth while
maintaining riveting and raw tenacity. With bone breaking intensity that holds
nothing back these destroyers are ours to cherish.
The gut grinding opener "Checkmate" possesses the feverish aggression of Modest
Mouse with Ziggy Stardust on vocals. The seething irony of "Happy Now" inflicts
punishing feedback with a Pixies style chorus while the hypnotizing "Exorcising
Demons" features exceptionally compelling chants through cryptic imagery. The
lo-fi, frightful "Skipping Rope of Daisies" is a kaleidoscope of creativity
balancing the grungy grace of the Screaming Trees with the laidback emotion of
the Wallflowers. With musky vocals chirping to George Harrison style strings,
this cunning classic reflects on inner struggles and the complexity bottled
beneath. The swirling "Holidays" is a mutating collision of the White Stripes'
destructive garage grit with a startling slice of eclectic energy. Blast this
bone crusher to get you in the hectic holiday spirit.
