From London, UK, Concept 7 defies our concept of Brit Pop, and
goes in the exact opposite direction to Industrial Techno with
their latest release, ‘The Undeniable Constant’. Taut,
unrelenting they push each song to the undeniable limit.
Deceivingly simple industrial arrangements are clean and
powerful as if they have been honed to the finest detail for
maximum impact.
‘The Undeniable Constant’ creates a world to get lost in. The
cover art hits you right between the eyes from the beginning,
with what looks like a cross between an old school single
adaptor for a turntable, and a ring of flaming blades! Evoking a
futuristic techno-hell, many of the tracks would be perfect for
a computer game soundtrack. Track #3 ‘Subversion’ creeps into
your psyche with a dark, full sound and powerful vocals with a
tinge of evil. Track #5 ‘Corporation Tank’ with urgent vocals
over hard industrial irresistible dance beats, that will move
you with their intensity. Track #8 ‘Tetrode’ builds a rich audio
environment as large as a huge robot factory. I was bombarded
with visual images listening to this, think an endless line of
marching robots with a whipping metal beat pushing them forward.
‘The Undeniable Constant’ is worth several listens, there is so
much going on in each song, you will be driven to listen time
and time again to catch it all. If you dare enter this dark,
